I am an experienced Chartered Architect dealing mainly with houses and house extensions. My services can conveniently be summarised under the following headings:
Feasibility – advising on practicality, town planning, costs, and timing.
Design and Planning – discussing requirements, carrying out measured survey, preparing alternative sketch designs for approval, making application for town planning consent.
Working Drawings, Building Regulations, and Tenders – preparing working drawings showing full construction details, structural calculations, making application for Building Regulation consent, preparing specification and tender documents, recommending builders, and obtaining and assessing tenders.
Construction and Completion – preparing contract documents for signature, inspecting the work as it proceeds, advising on the effect of any changes, carrying out valuations and issuing certificates for payment, preparing snagging list on completion, and inspecting to ensure that any defects are rectified.
Party Wall Matters – advising on party wall legislation, acting as party wall surveyor, negotiating with adjoining owners or surveyor, carrying out condition survey, and preparing party wall awards.
Clients may not require all these services and can select those that are appropriate
